Hi
I´d like to buy a set of speakers that I can just plug in to the electricity and that my iPad would find via AirPlay. In other words, without Airport Express etc.
When I search on the Apple Store for AirPort enabled, there is quite a choice available, but they don´t mention “AirPlay enabled in their description”.
I guess I just want to check that when I make a purchase choice, I am choosing speakers that do not need AirPort, but will just automatically work with AirPlay.
Any advice?
Thank you.

Apparently there are no AirPlay enabled speakers on the market yet. iHome were the first to announce some but they’re not available yet.

That will be why I cant find them then.. That’s disappointing. At least, for now.
Thanks for the clarity. And the links.
That iHome iW1 looks amazing… hope they come out with it soon. I would buy it for my sister-in-law for Christmas and maybe for myself, but I’m afraid that the cost is going to be well north of the $150 I’d like to pay.
I know from Ihome directly that the iw1 is not coming out until January or even Feb. 2011. I know they said holiday season, but they will show them off at their CES Conference in January.
They will then be released into the market shortly afterwards
Its a pity theres not one manufacturer who was AirPlay ready for the launch of AirPlay. Seems they have all missed a marketing trick.
However, any standard computer speakers should work with an Airport Express. Picked up a refurbed one on Amazon for about $50 the other day to use in my kitchen with the Creature speakers I already had sitting around.
