Early this morning I powered off my iPad properly, held the sleep button until it told me to slide the thing across the screen to power off.
Then later held the sleep button to turn my iPad back on and it’s telling me to connect to iTunes and once I do that, iTunes is telling me that the iPad is in recovery mode and I have to restore it.
I don’t want to restore it if I can avoid it and I’ve already tried the combination of holding the sleep and home button and etc.
I just got this iPad on Christmas, it’s the iPad 4.
Please help.
Also, I am currently downloading the newest iTunes, the Apple troubleshooting website I was on reccommended doing that, I’m doubtful it will help.

The newest iTunes probably won’t help. Unfortunately you are going to have to restore your iPad. That happened to me when I had the iPad 2 and I had to restore it after trying everything else.
