I’ve had the 1st generation 16GB iPad + 3G since June 2010, and I’m on the fence about upgrading it to the new iPad. Are the new features enough to justify the leap, and do you think it makes sense to upgrade? Thanks

For me personally, no. But I keep my tech for a lot longer than most people which is one reason why I like Apple. But if you’ve got a spare $729 lying around, get the 32GB 4G version for something with more capabilities than yours. I waited for the new iPad because I never buy the Mk 1 Mod 1 of anything and I knew eventually they’d get a Retina display in there… that is what sold me. I didn’t bother with 4G because I will mostly use it at home and I can tether on the go.

I have an iPad 1st gen but I ordered a new one because mine keeps crashing on the browser when I open a lot of apps and its probably faster. The iPad has a single core processor ad 256MB of ram (2010 spec’s) the iPad 3 had a dual core processor and 1GB of ram (2011 spec’s, but fine for apple because ios is a simple os but android needs a lot more) I think I would if I were you and it has 2 cameras better then the iPad 2 UPDATE Got the iPad today. It’s a little faster then the iPad on the browser it also never crashed once. It gets a little warm when your downloading a lot at once or doing something task heavy. Multitasking is very easy everything just works smoother and faster. I think it was worth the upgrade.
Personally my friend I think anyone wanting to upgrade would be if someone was gonna use the camera features, also of something new comes out that sounds appealing but apart from that I think you’ll be fine with the 1st gen my friend. : )
Yes totally get the one with the most memory though trust me the newer the ipad the better.
