I am seriously considering it, but I don’t want to get it and feel like i wasted my phone or there is nothing that special about it. I was also thinking about getting the iPad 3 (whenever that comes out) but seriously how much more could they improve the device.

No. An iPad (in my opinion) is a big, glorified iPhone. It can do what the iPhone does. A MacBook Pro is a much better portable solution in my view. Stick with the MacBook+iPhone!
dont get it. your iphone can play the games and stream the internet when your away from home and your laptop can do everything the ipad 2 can do besides the games and apps. iphone+mac>ipad
Honestly, with most Apple products, you should just buy it and don’t hesitate, because around the same time every year they come out with a new and improved version which you’ll often say ‘Damn I wish I had waited!’ If you have already got an iPhone and MacBook Pro, then think about what you’d really use it for. Chances are, next year when they bring out the next iPad, it won’t be that much better because, as you said, how much more could they improve it? However, if you think they will change it a lot for the better, than wait, I wish I had because i got my 2nd Gen iPod Touch really close to when the next one came out, and that one was much better! But oh well!! But I have heard good things from friends about the iPad 2!
I have the exact same question except I don’t have an iPhone nor do I have any interest in getting one. Anyways as for question, the choice is yours.
